A Night With The Wild Thing (cont)

A Night With The Wild Things

We all went to the Washington Wild Things game on Saturday night, August 4th. Had a real good time. Got to meet Stan Savaran, the Wild Thing mascot, Bill DeFabio (public address announcer) and, most importantly, the beer girls. Great place to take the kids and family.

Current House on Tate Property

Since you can't go up the private drive, if you make a right up Bella Dr you get a great view of the new house. The first picture is an old ariel photo of the Tate house. Second is where the gate is on the current house and perhaps the same telephone pole that Tex Watson climbed (not sure). Then some pictures of the current house on the property.

Cielo Drive

After making the left, you go up Cielo Drive, which is a very narrow road (first picture) until you reach the private Cielo drive on your left. The sign is still there, but there is no house number 10050 anymore (it has been changed).

Cielo House from Benedict Canyon Drive

On August 8th, 1969, Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwikle and Linda Kasabian were ordered by Charles Manson to go to 10050 Cielo Drive and kill eveyone that was there. Cielo drive is off of Benedict Canyon road (first picture). The next couple of shots are of the "new" house that is on the old Sharon Tate property. The view is from below the house on Benedict Canyon road. You make a left at the Cielo sign to go up towards the house (blurry cause we were moving).

McGuffey High School

Here are some shots of the new football field, gymnasium and auditorium for those of us who went there. Big difference.

Marilyn Monroe House

On August 4, 1962, Marilyn Monroe either committed suicide or was murdered in this house on 5th Helena Drive in Los Angeles. It's hard to see the house, but it's back there behind the blue gate. The blue gate on the left is to the garage. The other is to the house. I found a picture of the garage gate on the internet as it was in 1962 (the last picture). Couldn't find any others. Anyhow, this is it. We tried to get closer, but a dog started barking. So, we left.
